Chinese Herbal Medicine for COVID-19 and Resources for You

Hello, friends!

As COVID-19 cases increase in the Bay Area, sufferers are turning to Chinese herbal medicine to help relieve symptoms. It's too early to have research on the effectiveness of Chinese herbs on COVID-19 specifically but we know that these herbs have demonstrated effects on coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting, and other symptoms. A few of the Chinese antiviral herbs have even shown effectiveness against other SARS viruses (again, not specifically against COVID-19).

If you or anyone you know is suffering from suspected COVID-19 symptoms, Chinese herbs can be helpful in relieving symptoms, along with western medical care. For more information, click here, and to schedule an herbal consultation by telephone, either email me or call/text 415-652-4096.

And, more resources!

While shelter-in-place continues I have three additional resources to recommend. Please take a look at these amazing practitioners who can support you and your community.

Movement and Meditation Classes - Good for the Whole Family!
Anya Taylor, a Pilates instructor and body worker, is offering sliding scale ($5-$20) Zoom video sessions over the coming weeks. The sessions will focus on a combination of meditation, stretching, and strengthening, informed by her training in bodywork and pilates. The whole family can participate together! For more information, email Anya.

Psychotherapy
Daniel Sapoznick from Your Pace Psychotherapy (featured in Gentry Magazine) continues to meet with clients in-person as well as via telemedicine. His psychotherapy practice takes therapy outdoors, using a combination of walking and jogging in nature to provide the distraction the conscious mind needs to bring up deeper feelings and less commonly remembered experiences. His unique work allows for safe personal distancing untenable in a traditional office therapy setting. Learn more here

Relationship Coaching
Soniyah Singh from Finding Bliss is a profoundly wise and healing soul whose work focuses on coaching couples and individuals in order to overcome self-limiting beliefs and strengthen and deepen the bonds of love. For those of you struggling in your relationships with the stress of shelter-in-place, Soniyah's coaching can be done remotely and will set the groundwork for greater understanding and improved communication. Who doesn't need more love these days? Experience her work here -- and grab some tissues for this beautiful 4-minute video!

Please stay in touch with me to let me know how you're doing and whether there are other resources I can help locate for you or your family while we remain at home for the next several weeks.

I look forward to seeing your faces again sometime soon!

With love,
Janet
